The first stage in our journey is the launch of our innovative Connection Service. This enables members and businesses to connect over flexible job opportunities online.

The connection process

How to JOIN

It's FREE to join the network, so simply complete your Network Profile in 3 easy steps. Once approved by the Savvy Network team you can start reviewing job opportunities and connecting with businesses.

To ensure we provide a great selection of dedicated and experienced candidates we ask that all members have a minimum of 5 years commercial experience (please note, the 5 years can be across a range of expertise and not just your current or preferred expertise).

The Joining Process:

  • LOAD PROFILE:
    • Submit an online Network Profile, including uploading a CV and defining your 'flexibility'.
  • GET REVIEWED:
    • Once submitted, Savvy Network reviews your Network Profile and launches your profile onto the network.
  • GO LIVE:
    • Your profile is now live on the network for businesses to make connections with.

How to SEARCH

Once your Network Profile is live on the network you are free to search for job opportunities and connect with potential employers.

To search for job opportunities, simply scroll down to the bottom of your Member Account page and select your desired expertise.  All jobs listed under this expertise will be shown.

All jobs are listed in their short form.  To review the full job overview, simply click on View More next to the job opportunity you are interested in.

How to CONNECT

There are two ways members can connect with job opportunities on the network:

  • A business sends a Connection Request to a member, OR
  • A member sends a Request Connection to a business

A business sends a Connection Request to a member:

  1. When a business creates a new job opportunity on the network they can select members with the relevant expertise to send a connection request too.
  2. Members are notified of the connection request and either accept or decline it.
  3. If they accept, they are given full visibility of the job opportunity, and the business is given full visibility of the accepted members Network Profile. The business will then contact members directly to discuss next steps.
  4. If they decline, the business is advised.
  5. All connections can be viewed under each job opportunity you have created on your Business Account page.

A Member sends a Request Connection to a business:

If members find a job opportunity that interests them and they have not already received a connection request from the business, they can initiate a connection themselves.

  1. Simply click on the “Request Connection” button at the bottom of the Job Overview one is interested in.
  2. The company advertising will be advised of the connection request and either accept or decline after reviewing an abbreviated version of the members Network Profile.
  3. If the connection request is accepted, members will be given full visibility of the job opportunity, and the business is given full visibility of the accepted members Network Profile. The business will then contact members directly to discuss next steps.
  4. If they decline, the member is advised.
  5. All connections can be reviewed and tracked within your Member Account.

How to TRACK

All connections are tracked via the Connection Panel located on your Member Account homepage.

Connections are tracked under FOUR key groupings:

  • ACCEPTED - a member has accepted a connection request sent from a business OR a business has accepted a connection request sent from a member.
  • DECLINED - a member has declined a connection request sent from a business OR a business has declined a connection request sent from a member.
  • PENDING: All connection requests a member has sent to businesses for a job opportunity they are interested in and are waiting on a response (either accept or decline).
  • REQUESTED: All connection requests businesses have sent a member for a job opportunity they would like them to consider and are waiting on a response (either accept or decline).

To get the most out of our service we recommend you keep your Network Profile up to date and action all connections in a timely manner.

Other Support Services Coming Soon ...

Administering your Flex

Finding flexible work aligned to your skill set can be challenging and demands time and patience. Then, once you’re fortunate enough to secure that elusive position a minefield of red tape potentially awaits.

Most flexible work requires self-employment of some kind (i.e. contracting, consulting, project work, etc).  As a result, you’ll need to consider business fundamentals that employees need not worry about - invoicing, provisional tax, GST, insurance, health and safety, ACC, and so on.  All this can be daunting and easy to place in the too hard basket, especially if you’re only after a handful of work hours a week.

To help administer flexible assignments with minimum fuss or frustration, Savvy Network has designed a range of support services and resources for its members to access and utilise.

Your Career Centre

Working flexibly potentially means you do not have access to the training and development opportunities permanent employees do.

As a result, Savvy Network looks to align with industry associations and networking businesses to make you aware and provide access to events, courses and networking opportunities that will enable you to engage with your professional network and continue to build your career.
